Welcome to Season 5!

In Season five’s opening episode, join us co-hosts Keith Herndon and Charlotte Varnum as we express our enthusiasm for returning for another season of our summer fun project – a case of episodes expressing our love of wine and the joy we get from talking about it and sharing our finds with our audience. We’ll talk about our big trip to Beverly Hills for the Taste Awards red carpet, publishing our book and then we’ll set up the overall season.

S4E12: Sancerre Rouge

In our final episode of this season of Wines We Drink, hosts Keith Herndon and Charlotte Varnum drinking and enjoying an exceptionally bright wine from Sancerre, but it is a Pinot Noir and not the Sauvignon Blanc that made the region famous. We will see you next summer for season five of Wines We Drink! 

 

S4E11: Bordeaux Blend

In Season Four’s eleventh (penultimate) episode, hosts Keith Herndon and Charlotte Varnum explore a red blend from the renowned Bordeaux region of France that is a seductive combination of mostly Merlot and a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon. 

S4E10: Canadian Red Blend

In this episode of Wines We Drink, hosts Keith Herndon and Charlotte Varnum open another red blend, this time one from Canada made in the Bordeaux style that is described as “full of fruit with a classic and elegant structure.”

S4E9: Red Blend

In Season Four’s ninth episode, hosts Keith Herndon and Charlotte Norsworthy Varnum are opening a red blend, but simply calling it a red blend is only the beginning of the story for this amazing Pacific Northwest wine.

S4E8: Saperavi

In Season Four’s eighth episode, our hosts, Charlotte Norsworthy Varnum and Keith Herndon, are opening a full-bodied red from the country of Georgia made from Saperavi, a unique grape that calls the birthplace of wine its home.

S4E7: Valdiguié

In Season four’s seventh episode, hosts Keith Herndon and Charlotte Norsworthy Varnum are enjoying a California red wine perfect for hot summer barbecues. It’s made from a varietal – Valdiguié – that was misidentified for decades.

S4E6: Crémant

In Season Four’s sixth episode, hosts Keith Herndon and Charlotte Norsworthy Varnum are celebrating the midpoint of the season by drinking and talking about Crémant, an excellent French sparkling wine that is not Champagne.

S4E5: Viognier

In Season Four’s fifth episode, hosts Keith Herndon and Charlotte Norsworthy Varnum are talking about another of Keith’s wine trips – this one to a lesser known region: the Temecula Valley. We’re sampling a beautifully balanced bottled of Viognier, a grape varietal synonymous with the Northern Rhone that has found a home in Southern California. 

S4E4: Riesling

In Season Four’s fourth episode, hosts Keith Herndon and Charlotte Norsworthy Varnum are talking about Keith’s trip to the Finger Lakes in upstate New York and drinking his selection of an exceptional dry Riesling.
